US considering nuclear weapons against Iran as war falters, claims Marjorie Taylor Greene
Former congresswoman and Trump ally says Washington is weighing nuclear escalation as its conventional weapons stocks run low

Former US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has claimed that President Donald Trump's administration is discussing using nuclear weapons against Iran, as Washington struggles to sustain its months-long war.

“They are discussing using nuclear weapons on Iran in strategy meetings,” Greene wrote on social media late on Sunday.

“I'm not speculating, I know. And it's pure evil," she added.

Greene, once one of President Donald Trump’s closest congressional allies, urged Americans to resist any attempt to escalate the war.

“People need to speak out and boldly stop this insanity.”

Greene's relationship with Trump collapsed after she pressed for the release of files connected to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted pedophile and financier whose social circle included Trump and other powerful figures.

Greene accused Washington of launching the war on the back of warnings repeatedly promoted by Israel about Iran’s nuclear programme.

“Trump and his admin were told by our own intelligence that Iran was nowhere near creating a nuclear weapon, then Israel said the same line it’s repeated for decades, ‘Iran is only weeks away,’” said Greene.

“And now our government is the one actually discussing lowering the nuclear threshold in order to use nuclear weapons against Iran even though Trump claims he’s won the war like 40 times and says the U.S. controls the SoH,” she added, referring to the Strait of Hormuz.

The US and Israel launched their war on Iran on 28 February. Months of attacks have killed thousands of Iranian civilians, disrupted global energy supplies and failed to break Tehran’s grip over the vital waterway.

Greene warned that further escalation could unleash a global “nuclear holocaust”, economic depression and casualties on a scale unseen in generations.

“America is not untouchable," Greene warned.

Her intervention comes as the US military struggles with depleted weapons stocks. Reuters news agency reported that American forces had used “virtually all” of their long-range precision missiles during the war, while heavy expenditure of Patriot and THAAD interceptors has weakened US readiness elsewhere.

NBC News reported this month that the Pentagon was drafting a strategy that would give shorter-range tactical nuclear weapons a greater role in regional conflicts.

“Our view is that we need credible nuclear options,” a senior US defence official told NBC.

The US remains the only country to have used nuclear weapons in war, destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

@Rooinek Not yet….the effects of the blockade aren’t instantaneous. You do get that ? Blow something up and it’s gone…..cut off income flow and it takes a while to accumulate. But I would say the military campaign should have much clearer objectives.

@Mozart, a plan without defined objectives is not a plan.

If Iran were cut off from its oil, it would just go crazier and attack many more Middle Eastern countries a lot more. They would probably be able to block the Red Sea straight, if even intermittently, which would cause a global recession.

America is no longer the land of the free. It is a stain on humanity, with its constant war-mongering and economic trade wars.

Yes, now America are known as a country that routinely threatens nuclear action - a bit like Putin's Russia.

Trump is going to create a nuclear arms race; then future generations will have to face a nuclear-armed world, all while having the most history with nuclear bombs (threats and the only real-life case study)

Bozo has some serious psychological disorders, he clearly has dementia and he's never been even slightly intelligent . . . but his brain is probably in better shape than the chest-thumping Trumpanzee retards who can't see through all his bullshit and still support him.

@Mozart Rassie is not the person I would liken to Bozo in terms of personality.

I'm thinking of someone else . . . someone who boasts a lot, can't admit he's wrong about anything and surrounds himself with servile toadies who are too stupid to see through the bullshit.

Hmmmm . . . I wonder who that could be?

Was reading through this thread and saw the phrase war mongering.

I don't know the answers, but there are some questions that spring to mind.

Is a world without war possible? I'm sure that within the very first tribe ever to exist, people fought. And I'm pretty sure that as soon as that tribe split into two tribes, they ended up going to war at some point. And I'm also sure that war has been a true constant in human history. It seems to me that a world without war would only be possible if there was some far superior force that threatened to punish any group that went to war.

Is war ever justified? Obviously, I'm not talking about defending one self. I'm talking about starting a war. Is it ever okay to instigate conflict? Perhaps I can't think deeply enough about it, but it would seem naive to answer that it's never okay to start a war.

I haven't been keeping with the Iran situation but i do know that they are a major funder of terrorism. I know that they shoot their population in the streets for protesting. I also know that when the current regime came in they promised all the stuff that leftists promise the masses in order to get into power. Things like decreasing the wealth gap and demonising the wealthy. Since they took over Persian woman have taken the brunt of the oppression. I know that they had/have a nuclear program.

Interesting side note; the likes of Denny and Blo will tell us that what happens in Iran is Iran's business. We have no right to intervene. So, if they execute a 30k civilians for protesting, it should not concern us because it's not our problem. But at the same time both of those people do not live in the US and yet can be found, demonstrably so, to be very much interested in Trump and the goings on in America. I'm sure that if I look into some threads I'll find them bemoaning the accidental killing of singular individuals by US police or ICE agents. So I'm not sure, should we involve ourselves in those instances but barely make a post about the tens of thousands of intentionally murdered Iranian civilians? We should also definitely involve ourselves when it comes to the accidental killing of the school children in Palestine, but again we should ignore what happens in Iran...cos Iranian lives don't matter. Perhaps we need to get a guidebook on where we are not allowed to be concerned.

I know that Trump's stated reason for going to war with them is to prevent them from getting nuclear weapons.

Perhaps you guys can fill me in on the latest "conspiracy theories" about how Bibi is controlling Trump. As far as I know, that isn't the case, but you know I do love a good conspiracy so please, let me hear how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Do you know how far along the Iranian nuclear program actually was? I'm not talking about this reporter saying X and that weapons inspector saying Y. I'm asking if you actually know? I know that you don't actually know. Nobody outside of intelligence agencies and perhaps those working on the programs in Iran actually know.

So what do we know? I mean what can we actually agree on as objective fact. I'd say the following are probably good candidates;

  • The ayatollahS are evil bastards.
  • They were developing nuclear technology.
  • Iran is the biggest sponsor of terror in the region and possibly the world.

That's it's. That's all we actually know.

Now the question;

Do those facts justify going to war with them?

"They were developing nuclear technology."

What's wrong with developing nuclear tech?

Developing nuclear tech for energy and other uses is accepted world-wide. Why should Iran not be allowed to do the same?

If you meant "developing nuclear weapons", well, that's very different and that's not factual at all. In fact the opposite is true. The Obama deal that was in place forbade Iran enriching uranium to the point where it could be used to make weapons and there is no evidence they were doing that . . . in fact the Supreme Leader (The old, frail and relatively peaceful Leader who Bozo killed and replaced with his younger and more militant son) had issued a fatwa against the development of nuclear weapons.
