the tenth Bok in history to reach 100 teat caps at Ellis Park on Saturday.
All real rugby supporters wish him a great game and many thanks for being such as outstanding Bok.
But of course it is astounding that a man with such a stellar career get trashed by the noobs on the board. Indeed these ARCH Mamparas also have a go at Du Toit widely regarded as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, number 7s world rugby has ever seen. One wonders how it is possible to be this dumb!!!!!!!

Great achievement, he may be limited in skill and pace, but has been a main stay. His best performance was probably when he faced Nonu in 2015 rugby World Cup and test matches. He was the only player that could contain Nonu. Back then he had a step and could bump players off, he did the same against Wales in 2019 scoring that massive try knocking 5 welshman over on the way to score the decider and getting us in the final.

He is not the worst 12, but I think that is the role of Modern 12, another flanker, to hold the midfield. Not like the 12's before him that had genuine creative edge and line breaking ability.

Definitely the journo's favourite 12.

BUT, I just don't see what the coaches and journo's see.

@clevermike You left out the bit where you fail to mention Nonu had already fooled DDA with his sidestep and unloaded the ball to Barrett before he was tackled!!

@clevermike ….what a liar you are Saaiman…..Nonu saw the space and gained 15 metres inside the Bok 22, running 25 metres on the angle. When Dud Allende finally caught up…he simply offloaded to Barrett who just had to flop over the line……To take the Boks out of WC 2015….Allende makes that tackle we stay ahead with 10 minutes to play

Salute DDA. Can't but wish him anything but the best for his 100th.

Team has not been named but it's 90% certain he'll be there, unless Rassie does something crazy like Willemse 12 and Fassi 15.

I've got this gut feeling that we might see Kolbe @15 with Hooker and Moodie on the wings. This might also just be the after effects of a busy weekend finale at the local kebab shop. Will find out either way by Thursday.

9 Williams, 10 SFM, 11 Arendse, 12 DdA, 13 Kriel, 14 Kolbe, 15DW is probably our best backline...Rassie might opt to play Williams from the bench, and I don't know about Arendse's fitness, so it might be Hooker or Moodie @11.

6 PdV, 7 PSDT, 8 Jasper

4 Eben, 5 Nortje

1 ? 2 Marx, 3 ?

Wilco is our best 3, but he will play off the bench if fit...Ox is our best 1, but he's probably not ready either.

For the record…the 2023 WC final:

D AllendeC 0 5 5 1 0 1 0 0

Dud Allende 5 runs, 1 defender beaten….total gain 1 metre.

D AllendeC 0 12 4 0

Dud Allende 16 tackles attempted (all we did was tackle) 4 tackles missed, tied for worst Bok.

And there was the Mo’unga non tackle saved by the TMO.

I salute the ‘Great’ de Allende, ….the real de Allende was amazingly injury free, serviceable in a well organized defensive unit, but not a great tackler in space. Hard to put away, but not a factor in breaking the line….and the lowest try scorer/try creator per game played.

Mozart

You ignore positive contributions the tries scored by De Allende against Wales in 2019 and France in 2023 - important because the two tries ensured that the Boks reached he final and winning the RWC trophies, As you admitted befpre on site you never see during games positive contributions and find shit negatives to discredit players you hate.

Mozart21 Aug 2026, 19:41

What nonsense….I admit never seeing positive contributions from players I ‘hate’? Firstly I hate no players and certainly neither of the Duds. Secondly I can’t imagine an international rugby player who never makes contributions….I see it all, the good and the bad.

Now the two Dud Allende tries. Against Wales Biggar tried to go high against Dud, possibly trying to strip the ball and Dud tractored over. That was a key try because we were behind Wales….but it involved little skill.

Second the try against France…..Manie kicks another gormless cross kick. Allende lopes after it with no urgency. The French tap it back right into Dud Allende’s hands. He dummies and sets off for the goal line with no tacklers in front, but is caught from behind. caught from behind by Jelonk the French blind side flanker.. So much for center speed. The Boks win the ruck and the balls passed to dud Allende who literally falls over the goal line.

What’s most notable about those two tries is we have now described almost 20% of Dud’s test tries….in 99 tests! And pretty much his only notable involvements in both W Cups.

Draad apparently Siya might be fit to play and ditto Ox. Time will tell. Can one risk playing Siya even if he appears fit.
Maybe start with Ox Marx and Wilco and see if one can milk some penalties and gain territory from penalties etc. Maybe play Portens at 3 off the bench. Wee abs are mobile and so is Portens. Rassie will probably go for Du Toit and Wilco.

Wilco is better used off the bench... there's usually very few scrums in the 1st 30mins...

Poor DUD Mozzie has no clue why Allende has been picked so often by South Africa's greatest ever coach and will be 1 of only 10 Bok players ever to reach 100 caps. Its way beyond the Dud's comprehension. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha

Oh no HasBeen I spotted the reason….5 runs for 1 metre in the WC final, who can say no to that kind of contribution from your inside center?

ROFL!

By the way Mozart De Allende is the highest paid foreign player in Japan rugby at $900 000 per season. If he ss as bad as you make him out to be why is that the case, Do you think the Japanese are idiots,?

@clevermike Wrong Mike! Richie Mo’unga was paid $1.4-$1.6m as the highest followed by Kolbe and de Klerk.

Don't care if he gets to a hundred games. The sooner we see the back of him the better.

Can't stand how he plays, never could and never will.

Most overrated Bok of all time in my book.

Na Plum, most unfamiliarly criticized Bok of all time...he does as he is being told...getting on in years a bit, but he has been a great servant of Bok rugby and a selfless team man....most of his team mates agree... there's a pattern to all the critique of the Bokke... people hate some of the aspects of our game plan and criticize the personnel and the coaches...despite the success brought us ...we are not France or NZ we are the Springbokke...

Draad we are the Springbok supporters but there has to be some serious doubt by now about phony Bok supporters on this board. How they hate Rassie, Du Toit and Allende to name a few and how they cant stop moaning despite the incredible run of success the Boks have enjoyed.
I sometimes think they should all go and become league supporters. Or go the whole hog and support the wee abs.
Doubtless some here are desperately hoping the kiwi ballarinans win. They have been so disgraced by Rassie and the Boks only a series of Bok losses will help them to imagine they were right all along. What an utter disgrace these mamparas are!

Yep, if you've got Zelim Nel as a personal family friend writing you up in the national rugby magazine every week you'd have to be shit not to be selected. He's average and if he didn't play in hoops he wouldn't have been given so many chances.

That emperor has no clothes.

I think part of he problem with Allende is some oaks don't appreciate the hard yards won. Th great defensive tackles, the great passing, the smooth grubbers. These guys look for the flash. To them a guy running through a wide gape created by team mates and running 40 meter to the tryline is the ultimate. Its all flash stuff with them.
Allende by winning his 100th Cap (only 4 Bok backs in history have done this) assures his place in Bok rugby history as does his being a double RWC winner, winner of a Lions series and Rugby Championship s etc etc etc.
How odd this little clique is!! Weirdoes, batshit bonkers they are.

DB, since Rassie took over, it's been the same story: bash it up, kick the leather off the ball, wait for mistakes, counterattack. We hardly create structured backline play.

So explain to me what this "evolution" is, because I haven't seen it. And you still haven't answered the question: how long can we keep playing this one-dimensional stampkar, and kick game plan? For the next 20 years?

@Pakie go check the pass to Kolbe vs England in the 2019 RWC final

Twickenham 2024. It was a bit of a hail mary pass that Kolbe had to jump and take almost behind him, but I'll give it to him. The break was probably better than the eventual pass.

On a decision making level, I like Andre's more. He had just picked the ball up from the breakdown, four possible receivers, Willemse just inside Kolbe was calling for it was well, but he made the call to send it straight to Kolbe in space and put it in his bread basket, taking all the AB defenders out of the equation except Carter, who had to deal with the impossible Kolbe step while running across field to boot. But that's just my opinion.

MP what I like about the Boks is their strike ability - against Scotland for example we racked up 40 points with 39% possession. At the same time that's what makes our style of playing so frequently without the ball more frustrating, because we can do so much more damage holding on to the damn thing. The Scots ran us ragged, and if they didn't fluff one red zone chance after the other (I counted at least 5 clear scoring chances where they took the wrong final option or just dropped the ball), they could have pummeled us. The Boks are far more clinical, while we may still be playing a basically tight forward and kick dominated game, the strike potential is impressive. But I get the feeling, wrong or right, that our propensity to defend more than play will come to bite us at some point. It almost did against France and the ABs in '23, but goal kicking and a very lucky penalty for Kwagga jackling while not supporting his weight against France scraped us through.

Shims cracks me up. When Jean asks if he can ask one more question, then asks it, and before the answer comes Shims says "That was my next question." I don't think we have another duo with the kind of chemistry that Jean and Shimmy do. The way Schalk and Shims are both exasperated by Jean mentioning his shoulder injury "again". And here is the only evidence you'll ever need of AE being superior to DDA.

@Plum haha, I saw that yes. Wasn't there something about a World Cup coming up so of course Jean has an injury in there as well? Just great banter.
