Deon Fourie the best player on the park

What a brilliant game from a man close to 40, tackles, turnovers, that incredible early bust with ABs all over him. Barrett Brown getting the MOM ahead of Deon is a mystery. The next revelation was Senatla, the line he ran was so pure it was a try from the second he got the ball. But throughout the game he did smart things.

It’s hard to judge where the ABs are….the Stormers eventually folded with some silly mistakes and injuries, but this was a close game. The game swung on NZ dominance in the lineouts and Roos’ horrible fumble 5 meters from the NZ line. If there was any doubt that Roos should be in the test team it ended today. He was awful…poor hands, toothless ball carries, mistimed/bottled kickoff returns.

And he led the list with 5 missed tackles and he was second in turnovers conceded. This is a player who would probably benefit playing for one of the better overseas clubs.

This man is trying to be something he isn’t…Cobus Wiese.

Brannas pretty much has the keys to Cape Town at this point.

That shot of him walking off, looking like a battered old warehouse contrasted by the massive smile on his face. Brilliant!

Rugby is the most special of games.

As for Roos, I'm frickin done. I've spent time trying to figure out where else he could apply himself, perhaps totally changing where he plays, or becoming a hybrid, playing under a different coach...

At the end, he's just not good enough. And then last night, outside of being pretty ineffective, right when the Stormers could put the knife to the ABs, he makes a horrendous unforced error and costs his team 80m.

Then you watch Cam for the Bulls. It's bloody night and day. And it'll be the same for the Boks tonight. He'll make his hits, be off the floor in a flash, seamlessly reposition and go again. That's before discussing all the other stuff he does so incredibly well.

I don't think there is a coherent case to be made for Roos at the Boks.

Many probably didn't notice but Dayimani was everywhere. The amount of back tackles he made, he kept popping up everywhere. I totally forgave his charged down kick because again, he was the only one that actually got back. He'll be good for the Stormers this coming season. In fact, at his age and with his foreign experience, and considering that Nel is probably done, I'd consider making him skipper.

But Ahmed really impressed me. The man looked so serious he doesn't appear to have laughed at a joke once in his life. Love it. I'm super excited to watched him develop.

This thread raises more questions than answers.

Who is this mysterious "Barret Brown" that Mozart refers to? Did he come on as a sub?

Even more intriguing, who is Plum referring to as "Brannas"? The only clue we have is that he looks like a "battered old warehouse" . . . which isn't really much of a clue as I can't think of anyone who resembles any kind of warehouse, let alone a battered old one.

The crusade against Roos intensifies. It's all over the top stuff. Roos has a decent enough game.
Dayimani also as Plumpster says was good. That charge down happened when Dayimani was playing out on the wing so there is some excuse for the error.
The scoreboard flattered the wee ab ballarinas. The Stormers simply ran out of players and had 7 star players not even in the team. Also no game time for a couple of months etc.
Notable Mamparas like Rooitwit need to acquaint themselves with the facts.
What a Great shame Our Franchise teams are playing against the wee abs without their star players. The Franchise matches could have almost as interesting as the tests.

Rooitwit I don't give a hoot about the rule that the Boks don't play for their Franchises against touring teams. Is not a great policy.
You might make a case that your few world class players don't play but the rest should.
Pummel the wee abs and make the Franchise matches an incredible spectacle.

The hype around Rood has been deflated. A flat-track bully that stands out in lower levels of the game.
I have always maintained that his Springbok appearances have been low-work-rate.

He is not a team player, more of a loose cannon that does not follow the game plan.

Wiese is our best number 8. Hanekom has a chance to show he is the next best or more.
Roos does a job for the Stormers.

And to think, I was laughed at when I spoke as highly of Jasper as I did. I was told I was a noob and that Jasper is nothing but dumb muscle, a one-trick pony with a low ceiling.

Interestingly, you won't see Cam trying to emulate Jasper. Cam will play how Cam plays and show the value in his game.

To me it's a lesson in identity. Deciding on the type of player you want to be is almost as important as the natural talent you need.

In Roos' defence, I would say that Dobbo has been a poor mentor to him. Almost to man, we have recognised that Roos is trying to be something that he is not, something he will never be. Why has Dobbo not recognised that and guided him accordingly?
