Dumbian has not had one decent game this season. Then we have the one-dimensional Kriel. Together, they lack the creativity to create a paper aeroplane. It is not clear why Esterhuizen is not starting; he offers more on attack.

We need new centre talent, but it is getting too late in the day now, given that the World Cup is soon.
I would prefer the centres of the top 5 test teams in world rugby.

Kriel played on the wing with Esterhuizen moved to center after Arendse went off...

Paper plane….reminds me I haven’t had one of those in a while, one of the better cocktails. But I’m thinking Kriel could make the simpler paper model. The one with no separate tail. Dud Allende could fly both, into the nearest object.

@Pakie the guy defends DDA to the hilt, but the 12 that has contributed the most to our most dominant wins over the ABs(Twickers and Wellington) is apparently shit. Oh and that same guy ran over Moordy on the weekend to score our only try from close to a nothing situation.

And the coach that fails to see that simply giving Sacha the ball and allowing him to bring AE into the game more, and what a wet dream of an attacking threat that is for any other coach in world rugby, also gets praised.

Help me understand!?

@Plum It's criminal how Erasmus has yet to make Esterhuizen a focal point when he has started. Damian gets the front foot ball in abundance and does nothing with it, and, yet, Esterhuizen still out performs him. 100 tests of nothing.

Kriel is a strike runner, not a playmaker. He fulfills this role very well. He is also an effective chaser. Defensively? A bit hit and miss.

Damian is another matter entirely. It's quite remarkable that he has persisted as long as this. In 2013 his performance at 13 against Argentina was catastrophic. He someone how himself at 12 for the Boks on the back of media hype in 2015. There were a few shapes and plays that the Stormers uses to get him on the outside edge of the defence. For some reason he was tauted as a playmaker. The analytics didn't pass the test. Then came the Wallaby test where every point on the board was the result of a Damian lapse. Kuridrani in particular dominated him from start to finish. The media were collectively happy with the performances, so he was now a world class Bok. From there he became untouchable. It was Meyer who gradually through the course of that season carved out a role for him, dropping the familiar schemes the Stormers had used as the Wallabies and All Blacks exposed them quite ruthlessly. This became the blueprint for him ever since. A dour possession carrier from phase to phase. Remarkably, he will be regarded as a Bok legend for generations. It's funny how some people meander through life like this.

I don't think there is anything Esterhuizen could possibly have done to change the mind of Erasmus. He doesn't seem to trust the offload as it adds an uncontrollable variable to his rigid script. Erasmus needs to control where the ball moves at all times. It doesn't matter how predictable it may be. He relies on statistics. That desire for control has crippled the Boks for years. The talent is there, but we have never seen the Boks reach their potential over the past 10 years. Passive and obedient trumps talent and ability.

What I can't for the life of me understand is how some people can't see this?

It's not like Damien is a loosie that does most of his work off the ball. Yes he does hit the odd ruck but most of what he does is either ball in hand or directly defending against a runner. Very little of it is unseen work.

It's always slow, entirely lacking in threat and very rarely results in positive outcomes.

But, when you think about who the DDA fans on this site are, you note that most are WP guys.

Beeno, Mike, Draad...and then Dave is the only one with no link to Kaapstad. That makes 75% DDA support WP boys.

Actually thinking about it, DDA has very little support left on the board.

What I do know is that I would have made Andre the focal point of my backline about six years ago. I actually can't imagine a world where I wouldn't want him running onto the ball at pace. He always gets over the gainline and he is able to make tries like he did in Argentina by slightly delaying a pass and putting his runner through.

Imagine the scenario in Ireland last year where Ireland have had their teeth knocked out, they're dazed and confused, and you don't set up a situation from a single one of those scrums where the ball goes out to AE to crash over an Irish line that is TWO men short? How does one interpret that as anything else but incompetence bordering on madness?

For me, Damian hasn't been, isn't, and will never be a fraction of the player Esterhuizen is.

I recall how before flouncing off the board after a complete meltdown, the biggest hissy fit I have ever seen on a rugby board, after the Boks won the RWC a second time in a row. This loon was so angry and at that moment the mask fell away. His absurd criticisms of Rassie and the Boks was of the charts. Yes worse than even DUD Mozzie by some distance.
Deus loves to give long winded analysis which are about as one eyed as they come and often way off.
So we have Allende, yes in the twilight of his career, and his excellent partner Jessie Kriel (so good also in marshalling the defence) being maligned. Expect this disrespect to go on ad nauseum just like DUD Mozzie has tried to discredit Rassie, Du Toit and Allende and diminish the achievements of the Boks with any number of arguments over many years. These two nutjobs are of course close allies, a natural fit.

You are very paranoid. Is the evil empire out to get you? Perhaps your tinfoil hat isn't on tight enough! 😂

Keep up the good work! 🤡🤙

de Allende and Kriel have done us proud but we need to move on NOW - we have candidates who potentially have more clout than they delivered

DA - 34 turning 35 soon, come on

Someone has more clout than the Chuckle Brothers? Goodness me, that can't be possible. Next you'll be telling me they put their boots on the right feet first time!

Trust you to be too fucking stupid to acknowledge that both have been very good for the Boks

I’d say de Allende has probably been our best 12 in the time I’ve watched the game - close call with Jean. I’m leaning towards DA but would be happy to acknowledge Jean

I preferred Am to Jessie, but Jessie was good nothing special. Better when he first hit the scene became a bit robotic later on

But then again who gives a fuck what you think except old Plum of course

The Plumpster again surprises me. Looking forward to Deus analysis! Unless of course he enjoys a good laugh.
You were in the board when this nutter had his meltdown Plumpster.
Deus is poor regarding rugby. Can't see the wood from the trees type of guy. He is better on politics. Just like Shark is pretty hopeless politically but generally solid on rugby.
Yes Dave, Allende and Kriel have done us proud. I don't mind moving on when better players emerge. I can't honestly say AE and Moodie have been better. Trouble is time is getting short. Herein lies the problem that was always coming. Great Boks near the end of their careers. To keep them or let them go. It must be done on a man by man decision based on performance.
I don't think there is the talent to adequately replace our World class players.
Good luck Rassie

Hey Beano, let's hear your analysis of Damian today. I'm in the mood for a comedy act.
