Well, that was a bitter pill for the Lions to swallow. WP started off great but by half time the Lions had turned the momentum around and they were definitely the better team in the second half. Just a pity they missed all those kicks and took so many poor options.
I know I sound like a stuck record when it comes to drop kicks but I really wish they'd devalue the points for this boring and unsatisfactory means of scoring points. People go to see rugby to see teams running the ball and scoring tries, not to see glory-boy flyhalves trying to win games with crappy drop kicks. Marnitz Boshoff first attempt was an absolute shocker as he had a full backline travelling at pace on his outside yet he chose to try and reduce a 6 point deficit with a botched drop kick instead. His second attempt also failed when he had many more positive options available.
I see quite a few of the WP Blowhards are stamping their little feet and demanding that everyone congratulates their team. These are the same Blowhards who all disappeared last year after the Sharks man-shamed their little mincers in last year's final and they all went into a collective sulk. Just go check the posts after last year's final and count how many of these same Blowhards congratulated the Sharks . . . but here are these same foot-stamping little hypocrites getting all red-faced because the opposition supporters (and not just the Lions supporters by the looks of things) aren't patting their little heads and congratulating them for something they had sweet stuff all to do with. LMAO!
Hard luck again to the Lions and well done to WP who got the job done at the end of the day. I have a feeling these Lions are going to be much more competitive in the S15 next year.

Thanks Redneck!!
As you said ... a few poor decisions coupled with some dismal kicking cost us.
Hopefully we've learned something from this.
I'm excited for next year.

27 Oct 2014, 17:47#5
Sounds like a forward's opinion on your point about drop kicks! I do agree with you though, drop kicks should be valued at 2 points.
Lions looked the better team in the final and I would definitely say that the Lions lost the game rather than WP winning it.
Take nothing from WP they've been a fantastic team throughout.
27 Oct 2014, 17:55#6
Moz, I'll take the loser tag, at least the Lions made the final and could well have won it. My bloody team were very lucky to even make the Semi's.
Next year will be interesting though, Lions have great cohesion and are a pleasure to watch. Hopefully after the relative success of this years Currie Cup, they'll get a bit more money invested and increase their squad depth. Without a massive depth boost, next years Super Rugby campaign is already doomed.

RooiAAS I find phrases like " WP started great" a bit more telling or your use of "inimitable" vs the word you were looking for..."inimical", hilariously producing the opposite result to what you intended. No spell check can fix such pompous ignorance

Now that's friggin funny.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaaa!!!
Talk about making an arse of oneself.
Teath!!!!!!
Nice one Redneck!! Dave!!!
Toofs!!!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaaaaa!!
Tell me Arsehole ... are you sobbing silently within? Are we returning to the "sob" ... "sniff" ... "nobody loves me" posts again?
Can we expect another plea from you soon? Begging for acceptance?
You "truly" are a born and bred arsehole ... second to none I know.

"You "truly" are a born and bred arsehole ... second to none I know."
Indeed, inimitable in fact . . . in that his levels of spite, childishness and vengeful petulance cannot be imitated or equalled.
Maybe the sad and pitiful old fool will ask for another vote?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaha! Moffie takes another one in the "teath"!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaaaa!!!
Are you sure it's not in his toofs????
"Indeed, inimitable in fact . . . in that his levels of spite,

So true, Redneck. I think you have him pegged down to a T. He may sound like one deep in his eighties but he sure behaves like a 6 year old.
This Arsehole sulks at the drop of a hat when things don't go his way. So child like its astounding.
Do you think his mind is going?
Have you noticed how he loves to correct my spelling? Seems it's his only counter.
Teath!!!!!!!

Pu- ssyWhipped ... you've deliberately neglected to mention that the Currie Cup was begun in the 1890's and that Province had racked up near on 20 wins before Northern Transvaal Rugby was even thought of.
As far as I know they came to be in 1938.
That's a half a century head start.
How's the tally since then?
Don't be an arsehole my henpecked friend.
Try to put things in perspective ... ok??

It's 23-17 to Northern Transvaal vs WP since 1938.

Thanks ... Pakie.
It's high time the Lions had a golden era.
Close the gap a tad.

It appears the less fortunate - those not having such an illustrious history would wipe that history away. Unfortunately the history stands and the Johnny come lately outfits like the parasitic bulle and sharks have a lot of ground to make up. The sharks are only 4 ahead of Griquas bwahahahhahahahahaha.WP have more Currie Cup wins that the Lions, Sharks, Free State, Griquas and Border combined. Plus we feed the Bulle and Sharks with players to keep them afloat. Bwahhhahahahaha
No oaks lets face FACTS WP are the premiier SA franchise.
Rooitwit is likely to remain a brighter shade of green for the remainder of his lifetime. The chances of the sharks catching up with WP are in his life time are minuscule.
As for wee cc he remains fixated belo w the belt.

"Morning" lie down? Hmmm seems you haven't got the earth rotating on it's axis thing....google "the time difference" it might help. BB I interpreted choking as losing when you went into the match with a strong chance to win....but I take your point.

Oh. I see....this is like a prediction that isn't a prediction. I suspect if you asked him the AAS would agree that you predicted the Boks were going to lose to the Worlds and Wales. Why dontcha and see if you can avoid the bad behavior among friends we witnessed above.

Divide and conquer, hey arsehole?!
Is that your latest little ploy?
Like to gang up on posters but when the shoe's on the other foot you whine and whine.
A typical bully. Loud mouthed, strutting his stuff, with his mates in toe ... until someone comes along, calls your bluff and smacks you in the mouth.
Then it's tears and "no one loves me" and "please, please don't leave me" ... "sniff" "sniff" "sob" "sob" ...
Pompous ass!!
