Also Renee accused of being a whinger which of course he is. Man does he talk a lot of BS. Gavin Rich and Brendan Nel demolish this kiwi bird brain!
What was great though is we beat the wee kiwi ballarinas without the advantage we have in the scrums.
Looking forward to hearing what Nick Mallet says.
Listen to how kiwis get away with murder. Eg note the comments regarding head contacts for which they were NOT penalized.
I hope the hapless Moooo lalalaland watched this video and learns from it.
Ref Angus Gardner took scrums off the table say Rich and Nel.
You guys are still whinging after a win FFS!!
There is a probem - the suface at Newlands make scrumming a more even contest, However, the referee should have reffed t e scrums better. I one case the scrum was reformed 5 times - with th e AB's should have ben penalized,
I aot her case Ox was penalized for doi g so/m.in g wrong even before the ball went into the scrum.
"You guys are still whinging after a win FFS!!"
I know . . . hard to believe.
The performance of the ref has nothing to do with the fact that we've win or lost...it is what it is ...your coach was whinging about our scrum after the ABs had your best performance against us in 7 years...your coaches always do...Razor being the exception.
I don't know you keep resetting a scrum when a team is constantly belly flopping.
And then you see the Kiwi put-ins and suddenly all the problems vanish.
The scrum is dead peeps.
And it's become an overcomplicated nonsense with the constant ref coaching. Go back to the old days - everyone sets themselves and they engage. There's too much time for fucking around with this crouch hold engage crap.
Gardner over managed the scrum and ignored the skew throws in the line outs...
Oaks don't miss the point here. Renee is trying to take away the Boks big weapon that is the scrum by making up a BS narrative.
What is this break foot they keep going on about. Saw it in the Argie game too. Looks like World Rugby has invented another way to destroy the game.
Create a rule, allow it to settle and stick with it. Teams will catch up and the game will get better.
You want contested scrums then allow for contested scrums what is the point of having two front rows in the match but they are not able to contest the scrum
A lot of teams have suffered at the hands of the Bok scrum. The humiliation has been so great they want to end contested scrums.
WHINGING Renee is the flag bearer. Wee abs want all the rules to suit them.
The rugby union rule you are referring to is actually called the "brake foot" law. It is not named after a person named Rennie although it was strongly supported by elite coaches like Dave Rennie when it was first introduced. The brake foot rule mandates that during the "crouch" and "bind" phases of a scrum, hookers must keep one foot extended forward into the tunnel. They can only withdraw this foot and fully engage when the referee calls "set". If a hooker fails to use a brake foot, the referee will penalize the team by awarding a free-kick to the opposition. The law serves a vital purpose for player safety and scrum stability:🛑 Why the "Brake Foot" is UsedPrevents Axial Loading: Before this rule, packs would immediately shift all their weight forward onto the opposition's necks and shoulders before the scrum officially started. This dangerous pressure is known as axial loading.Protects the Spine: Hookers were effectively absorbing the massive weight of their entire eight-man pack through their necks. The brake foot acts as a physical prop, forcing the pack to hold its own weight until the engagement.Reduces Collapses: By keeping the scrum stable and ensuring a small gap between the front rows during the setup, it eliminates the dangerous "slam" upon engagement, resulting in fewer collapsed scrums.Originally introduced as a global trial, World Rugby integrated the brake foot requirement into permanent, official law.
