Its actually incredible how often the wee abs effect side tackles AND how many times they get away with it.

Yes, but the bigger issue is a refereeing problem. As I said on another thread, teams will push the envelope and try to wring out whatever advantage they can get away with in the game. If the ref doesn't crack down early and hard, it's going to set a tone for the game.

The refereeing standard throughout this series has been abysmal, that's why there's been so many shenanigans. We've had neck wringing, head contacts, knee contacts all being ignored. In the second test DDA got clung to off the ball at a ruck by Quinn in the same way that Vaai clung to Hanekom on Saturday. One was a penalty, one got ignored even though it was in plain view of the AR. Marx got medical attention after a shoulder to head contact on Saturday, crickets from the TMO. Nortje got cleaned out with a shoulder to the face by Blackadder, crickets from the TMO. Roigard rips the ball off PSDT from an offside position right in line and in front of AR Ridley, crickets. I've tried to keep myself out of ref critiques, but the past 4 weeks have been a masterclass in kak officiating, with Nika in the third test maybe coming the closest to some kind of competence. Angus Gardner, for my money, shouldn't be allowed near a test match again.

Pakster your new meds appear to be working. A sane post at last! Keep it up Pakster. I would like to welcome you back to the land of the sane. 😀

I do mean both ways Beensie, DDA alone committed two unpunished neck contacts in the second test, there was Fourie's deliberate obstruction that aided DDA's try in the second test, but the All Blacks have the greater air of deliberate cynical play about them - and even dangerous, if you look at some of Blackadder's cleanouts in Saturday's test. One came dangerously close to busting Deon Fourie's knee. Jacobson before him wasn't much better. Rennie should leave the illegal shenanigans and focus on the weaknesses his side needs to fix.

The best is, all the Kiwis area complaining that they were hard done by with the officiating.

I mean, define delusional!
