This Saturday, Cape Town Stadium will buzz with excitement as fifty former Stromers players reunite during the coastal derby against the Sharks. Adding to the spectacle, the Stormers will sport their black away kit, reminiscent of the renowned 1999 Men in Black campaign, a first for this season, while the Sharks will contrast sharply in their white away jerseys.
The event is set to begin at 4pm, and to commemorate the day, Stormers Rugby has rolled out the welcome mat to its former stars. As of Thursday, excitement was already high with thirty thousand tickets sold. Adding to the rugby feast is the SA Rugby U20 Cup match featuring the Stormers Bolts against the Leopards U20, which will start just 30 minutes after the main game concludes.
Stormers took to social media to rally their former players, urging them to grace the stands and cheer on in black. They offered a sweet deal for alumni—four complimentary tickets for those yet to secure their spots, hinting at a full house and electric atmosphere for the encounter.
The day is more than just about the clash on the field; it's a celebration of the team's rich heritage and a nod to the legends who have donned the black and blue.
