We have not had much success with overseas coaches...Plum for example bombed big time. But Eddie is the one foreigner who seems to have a feel for South African players and tactics. With a competitive budget I think he could do a spectacular job at the Stormers.

Plumtree did ok. He go to the final of SuperXV which is as good a result as any Sharks coach. He also won some Curry Cups.
Plumtrees downfall was in the backline. where he lacked play makers. Frans Steyn tends to overdo the crash ball.
Mitchell got some results as the Lions coach but he needed better players. Ackerman may be benefiting from some of the improvements to backline play at the Lions as they are at least expansive even though they are mostly average joes.
Eddy Jones has forward knowledge as well as backline knowledge. Some of the foreign coaches have failed with not getting the territory game of the forwards.

Thing is the Sharks had a great core. Beast, Bissie, Jannie, Alberts, Frans, JP....plus a competent supporting cast. That's what Plumtree inherited....as good as anything the Bools had when they won the S15.

Ag Foeitog Dr Goebbels flopped again caug\fgt in his won BS. Lets explain something to him and maybe he will get something in his befuddled mind correct for a change about Plumtree.
First of all - he in his list above mentioned a supporting cast and he went bananas about it. One of the players he mentioned was Fransie as per normal. I would say that he got lost. In 2013 Fransie weighed 118 kgs as a center - he became known as Fat Fransie and his performances were so bad that Plumtree was forced to drop him from the starting line-up. Plumtree did make a remark about him being no center at all and that is a fact if his performances in Super 15 between 2013 and 2015 in the Super 15 series is borne in mind. In 2014 season Fat Fransie made 1 line break and beat 8 defenders all season long - this year it was 1 line breaks beating 9 defenders. In both 2014 and 2015 Fransie's defensive stats were worse than those of De Allende - who in Super 15 this year made 27 line breaks beating 73 defenders. When challenged about the stats issue - you came up with the BS story about Fransie's stats is of no consequence, his presence on the field of play is enough to scare the wits out of the opposing players because they are so afraid of Fransie as an opponent. Your campaign against Plumtree stemmed virtually entirely from the Fransie fiasco - which is obviously BS.
Bismarck was injured in the test against Argentina in 2012 and was out of rugby for most of the 2013 SR season. He was one of the 19 players who were injured in the Sharks squad from a total of 36 squad members. The injury situation was so bad that at a number of stages Plumtree had to borrow players from the Lions to ensure he had a match day squad of 23 players available.
Alberts never ever had a good Super 15 season since 2012. He was extremely poor in 2013 - and got progressively worse in 2014. In 2015 he played in only 3 Super 15 matches and was disgustingly poor in all three. Again a player whose ridiculous stats is countered by the fear out of their wits BS from you.
JP had a horrible performance record over the past three Super 15 season - he progressively got slower and slower.
The problem with the firing of Plumtree centered entirely around Smit and was so bad that it landed Smit in constant trouble subsequently. It ended up in the Sharks playing in near to empty stadiums at home - a fact that cost White his job as a subsequent coach. The reason is that White caused further havoc in the team because of a poor record of causing rifts within the team. Be it as it may it is a fact that White was asked to resign by the Sharks.
What you ignore about Plumtree is that he got egg all over your face subsequently as he was assistant coach -
* of Ireland who won the 6 nations two years running; and* of the Hurricanes this year
Plumtree was the single biggest mistake made by John Smit as Director of Rugby and it was admitted by all the local experts. The firing of Plumtree and contracting of a stri ng of English club has-beens/rejects have had a disastrous affect n the Sharks which will take years to overcome.
The Sharks are still looking for a head coach and they would not get one easily as a result of the Plumtree fiasco.

My lasting memory of Eddie Jones is how in a matter of 6 weeks he fixed the Bok backline leading into the 2007 RWC.
